SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald T. Havey, M.D. of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on April 30, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In 1948, he graduated from Marquette University in
6Pre-Med; in 1952, he graduated from Marquette's School of
7Medicine; from 1952 to 1953, he served his internship rotation
8at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee; from 1953 to 1955, he
9served as a Commissioned Officer in the Medical Corp of the
10United States Army in Germany; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He served his residency in Internal Medicine at
12the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he also completed his
13Post Graduate Specialty in Gastroenterology (1958 to 1959); he
14then began his private, solo practice in Lake Forest (1959 to
151984); and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Havey was board certified and served on the
17staff of Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan since 1985,
18Condell Medical Center in Libertyville since 2001, and on the
19hospital staff of St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan from
201980 until it closed in 2005; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Dr. Gerald Havey's was the father of Thomas J.,

1Terence P., Maureen E. (Ed McMillen), Michael (Jill), and Brian
2R. Havey; and the loving grandfather of Lauren T. and Ellen T.
3Havey; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6his family and friends, the passing of Dr. Gerald Havey; and be
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Dr. Gerald Havey as a symbol of our
10sincere sympathy.
