SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary L. McCoy, who passed away on May 29,
42012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on December 4, 1958 in Yazoo City,
6Mississippi to the union of Clarence and Willie Mae McCoy; and
 
7    WHEREAS, She moved to Chicago in 1965; she attended Michael
8Faraday and Ryerson Elementary Schools; she graduated from Lucy
9L. Flowers High School; she confess Christ at an early age and
10was baptized at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Mississippi; and
 
11    WHEREAS, She was a dedicated employee, starting her career
12at Three Sister's Department Store as a sales associate and
13later as a member of the management team; she then worked for
14the United States Postal Service; she spent her last years
15working for the City of Chicago; and
 
16    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father; and
 
17    WHEREAS, She was an active member of the 29th Ward
18Democratic organization and worked campaigns throughout the
19State of Illinois for over 30 years; she is remembered as a
20humanitarian with a strong zeal for life; she was selfless and

1was one of the most "high-spirited" people anyone could ever
2meet; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5her family and friends, the passing of Mary L. McCoy; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Mary L. McCoy as a symbol of our
9sincere sympathy.
