SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard 'Dick' Donohoo, who passed away
4on June 11, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo was born on October 3, 1932, in
6Pearl; his parents were Ray and Hazel (Lytle) Donohoo; he
7married the former Glenna Bissell on May 10, 1952, in
8Pocahontas, Arkansas; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo graduated from Pearl High School
10in 1951; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo served from 1953 to 1955, during
12the Korean War, in Anchorage, Alaska; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo was a member of the United
14Brotherhood of Teamsters for 35 years; he was employed with
15Consolidated Freightways for 25 years until his retirement in
161991; he later worked for the Wood River Township Parks and
17Maintenance Department until 2003; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo served as a Democratic Precinct
19Committeeman for 20 years; he enjoyed hunting, fishing,
20boating, and camping with his family and friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo was preceded in death by his
2parents; his son, Donald Donohoo; his daughter, Cheryl Donohoo;
3and his brothers, Keith and George Donohoo; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Richard Donohoo is survived by his wife of over 60
5years, Glenna; his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Brenda
6Donohoo; his daughter-in-law, Lynda Donohoo; his
7grandchildren, Chris (Angela) Donohoo, Jason Donohoo, Tim
8(Amy) Donohoo, Taylor Donohoo, and Jennifer Donohoo; his
9great-grandchildren, Elias, Lyndon, Sebastian, and Julian; and
10his many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Richard 'Dick' Donohoo;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Richard Donohoo as an expression of
17our sympathy.
