SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Anna Theodora Schalz, who
4passed away on October 28, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anna Schalz was born on May 2, 1914, in St.
6Charles to Micalena and Martin Laurinas; she attended Holy
7Angels School and graduated from St. Therese Grade School; she
8married John C. Schalz on May 7, 1930; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Anna Schalz and her husband operated the Schalz
10Meat Market in Aurora and became instrumental fixtures in their
11community; she worked for 24 years as a housekeeper at
12Sunnymere Retirement Home; she retired in May of 1997, at the
13age of 83; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Anna Schalz enjoyed helping her grandchildren
15deliver papers, pulling weeds, attending band concerts,
16dancing a spirited polka, and cheering on her grandchildren and
17great-grandchildren at their sporting events; she was a
18long-time member of St. Therese and Holy Angels Parishes; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Anna Schalz was preceded in death by her husband,
20John C. Schalz; her sisters, Stella Smith, Anne Connolly, and
21Susan Cibulskis; her son-in-law, Robert Wrona; and her

1grandson, John Howard Schalz; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Anna Schalz is survived by her children, Anita
3Wrona, John (OK Hui) Schalz, Chuck (Sharon) Schalz, and Peg
4(Tom) Lentz; her 13 grandchildren; her 24, soon to be 25,
5great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; and her many
6nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Anna Schalz, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Anna Schalz as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
