SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Ron Sandack has represented the citizens of DuPage
3and Cook County with distinction in the Illinois Senate for
4over 2 years; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack's priorities have always been
6those of the people he represents - promoting fiscal
7responsibility, good education, business development and job
8creation; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack became a lawmaker to make the
10State of Illinois a better place to live, striving to make
11State government work best for the communities of suburban
12Chicago; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack has promoted a lean and ethical
14government during his tenure, immediately declining all State
15benefits associated with his legislative position upon taking
16office, opting not to offer legislative scholarships, and
17promoting legislation to eliminate redundancy in government;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack most recently served as
20Republican Spokesman of the Senate Licensed Activities
21Committee; he has also been a member of the Senate Financial

1Institutions Committee, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the
2Senate Labor Committee, the Senate Appropriations Committee;
3and the Subcommittees on Special Issues and Health Care
4Licensing; and
 
5    WHEREAS, A number of local and state organizations have
6honored Senator Sandack for his efforts in the General
7Assembly, including the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the
8Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack has been involved in many civic
10and charitable organizations; he was a former ex-officio board
11member of the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry
12and the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation; he was
13a founding donor of the Education Foundation of Downers Grove;
14he was a volunteer coach with Downers Grove Youth Baseball; he
15was also an active supporter and sponsor of numerous local
16charities and organizations, including Family Shelter
17Services, Helping Girls Navigate Adolescence (HGNA), and the
18Grove Foundation; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack served on the Downers Grove
20Village Council from 2003 to 2007; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack served as Mayor of Downers Grove
22from 2007 to 2011 before coming to the Senate; and

1    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack has served as a partner of the
2Chicago law firm of Gaido & Fintzen since 2003; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack was born on February 15, 1964; he
4graduated from Rich South Campus High School in 1982 and earned
5his bachelor's degree in 1986 from the University of Illinois
6at Urbana-Champaign; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack earned his Juris Doctor from
8DePaul University College of Law in 1989; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Senator Sandack and his wife, Kevan, have been
10married since 1990; they have 2 children; and
 
11    WHEREAS, In his 2 years as a State Senator, Ron Sandack has
12represented his constituents in Springfield with determination
13and class, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues
14on both sides of the aisle; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lawmakers and staff alike know and appreciate
16Senator Sandack for his articulate speech, good-natured
17personality, his dedication to his ideals and values, and his
18positive demeanor; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ron Sandack will continue to serve the people of

1Illinois as the State Representative of the 81st District; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lawmakers and staff look forward to working with
3Ron Sandack as a State Representative; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ron
6Sandack on his retirement from the Illinois Senate after 2
7years of honorable and dedicated service; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Ron Sandack with our friendship, our gratitude for
10his hard work, and our best wishes for his future endeavors.
