HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Andrew Przybylo of Niles,
4Dan DiMaria of Morton Grove, and Matt Bogusz of Des Plaines on
5the occasion of being elected to the position of Mayor of their
6respective communities; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mayor Andrew Przybylo is a 1969 graduate of Notre
8Dame College Preparatory and a 1975 graduate of Loyola
9University; he and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Niles
10since 1981; he is part owner of the White Eagle Banquets and
11Restaurant in Niles and is employed by Cook County as Secretary
12to the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals; he served on the
13Niles Village Board as a Trustee from 1989 until 2013, when he
14was elected to serve as Mayor of Niles in April 2013; he is a
15board member and president of the Polish Welfare Association, a
16delegate to the Democratic Party Convention, and a member of
17the Board of Directors of First State Bank of Chicago; he has
18also been a member of several organizations, including the
19Knights of Columbus, Niles Lions Club, and Niles Sister Cities,
20and has served as the Democratic committeeman for Maine
21Township and as a commissioner for the Cook County Housing
22Authority; and
 
23    WHEREAS, Mayor Dan DiMaria is a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame

1College Preparatory; he has served as president of DiMaria
2Builders and as an independent commodity trader on the Chicago
3Board of Trade; he has served as an Appearance Commissioner,
4Village Clerk, and Trustee with the Village of Morton Grove and
5was elected to serve as Mayor of Morton Grove in April 2013; he
6is also a volunteer and community-spirited person who
7volunteers his time at the Taste of Morton Grove, Morton Grove
8Days, the Chamber of Commerce, and Niles West Feeder Baseball;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mayor Matt Bogusz is a lifelong resident of Des
11Plaines and a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory;
12he is also a graduate of Northwestern University, where he
13gained experience in operational management, digital
14advertising, and media strategy; he formerly served as Alderman
15of the 3rd Ward and Chairman of the Engineering and Finance
16Committees in Des Plaines and was elected to serve as Mayor of
17Des Plaines in April 2013, making him the youngest person to
18serve in that esteemed position; he currently works for one of
19the world's largest brand communications and consumer contact
20organizations and represents Des Plaines on the Northwest
21Municipal Conference's Legislative Committee; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz
23serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the
24people of the State of Illinois and are fine examples of the

1strong work ethic and dedication to public service that Notre
2Dame College Preparatory instills in its graduates; therefore,
3be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz
7on the occasion of being elected to the position of Mayor and
8wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
11presented to Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz as a
12symbol of our esteem and respect.
