HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Indian
4Prairie Educational Foundation on the occasion of the
5organization's 25th anniversary; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation is a
7non-profit, autonomous, tax-exempt organization directed by
8citizen volunteers; the foundation's directors include
9parents, business people, and other members of the District 204
10community, as well as the Superintendent and a representative
11from the Board of Education; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The mission of the Indian Prairie Educational
13Foundation is to support School District 204 in serving the
14needs of all students through community outreach, financial
15development, and innovative programs; the foundation also
16seeks to fund projects which enhance student development,
17encourage excellence through creative teaching, foster
18school-community partnerships, and support the School District
19204 curriculum, particularly in the arts, sciences, and
20technology areas; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Since its creation in 1988, the Indian Prairie
22Educational Foundation has provided more than $3 million in

1educational enrichments for District 204 students, staff, and
2schools; the foundation has also awarded more than $382,000 in
3foundation mini-grants and $264,000 in Artist-in-Residence
4grants and has sponsored many festivals, fairs, and other
5activities for School District 204 students and faculty; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation has
7honored more than 1,200 of School District 204's graduating
8high-school and middle-school students through its Excellence
9in Education program; the foundation has also recognized about
10800 staff members who were nominated by these students because
11of the influence they have had on their academic lives; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Over the past 25 years, the Indian Prairie
13Educational Foundation has helped ensure that the students of
14School District 204 have received the highest quality education
15possible; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we congratulate the members of the Indian Prairie Educational
19Foundation on the occasion of the organization's 25th
20anniversary and wish them continued success in the future; and
21be it further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
