SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Marine Corps Corporal Aaron
4J. Ripperda of Marine, who passed away on March 18, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda was born on January 8, 1987,
6in Breese; his parents were Kent Ripperda and Tina Sutton; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda graduated from Highland High
8School in 2005; after 1 year at St. Xavier University in
9Chicago, he enrolled in and graduated from L'Ecole Culinaire in
10St. Louis; he was planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in
11business from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda enlisted in the United States
14Marine Corps in 2008; he was attached to the 2nd Marine
15Division and served his nation with dignity and pride; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda was preceded in death by his
17paternal grandfather, Clarence "Louie" Ripperda, and his
18maternal grandmother, Dorothy Lesicko; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda is survived by his father,
20Kent (Colleen) Ripperda; his mother, Tina (Jeff) Sutton; his

1sister, Kendall (significant other, Charlie Swaim) Ripperda;
2his paternal grandmother, Rita Ripperda; his maternal
3grandfather, Ronald (Jackie) Lesicko; his special friend,
4Jessica Iskrzycki; his aunts and uncles, Kurt (Lynn) Ripperda,
5Cara (significant other, John Zerkle) Tomasek, William
6(Beverly) Lesicko, and Patrick (Julie) Lesicko; and his many
7cousins; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cpl. Aaron Ripperda's patriotism and courage will
9be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow soldiers,
10and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of United States Marine
14Corps Corporal Aaron J. Ripperda; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Cpl. Aaron Ripperda as an expression
17of our sympathy.
