SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean Wehrli Kuhn, who passed away on June
412, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was born on September 24, 1949, to Frank
6and Gertrude Wehrli; she was raised in Naperville and attended
7Ss. Peter and Paul School and graduated from Naperville
8Community High School in 1947; she married Bob Kuhn in
9September 1952; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was an active volunteer in the Catholic
11Daughters of the Americas, at the Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans
12Administration Hospital, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church and
13School, at Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity Soup Kitchen
14in Chicago, at the Naperville Heritage Society, and with Little
15Friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn's favorite place to be was Centennial
17Beach; affectionately known as one of the "Beach Bums", she
18could be found playing cards up on the hill or taking a dip in
19the water; she enjoyed the quality time with family the beach
20provided and it was the highlight of every summer; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn also enjoyed genealogy, history, golf,

1antiquing, reading, and travel; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was preceded in death by her husband of
356 years, Bob; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was a mother of 9, a grandmother of 18,
5and a great-grandmother of 4; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Jean Wehrli Kuhn, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jean Kuhn as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
