SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Matthew John Porter of Woodstock, who
4passed away on October 10, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was born on December 15, 1973 in
6Champaign-Urbana; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was employed in the material
8services department at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock; he was
9also attending Judson College, where he was one course away
10from his Bachelor's Degree in counseling; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was a member of the Woodstock
12Assembly of God Church, where he served as a youth pastor for
13several years; he also participated in several prison ministry
14programs and was an active speaker with several Alcoholics
15Anonymous groups; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter enjoyed reading and spending time
17with his children; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter was preceded in death by his
19maternal and paternal grandparents; and

1    WHEREAS, Matthew Porter is survived by his daughters, Kylie
2Elizabeth Tennessen-Porter, Madison Rose Porter, and Ava Jean
3Porter; his mother, Nancy J. (Bill) Wilson; his father, John
4(Sharon L.) Porter; his sister, Kimberly (Eric)
5Porter-Hendrickson; his fiancee, Shannon Moerschbaecher; and
6many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Matthew John Porter;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Matthew Porter as an expression of
14our sympathy.
