SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of J. Raymond "Ray" Leonard of Godfrey, who
4passed away on October 26, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, J. Raymond Leonard was born on January 26, 1943 in
6Madison to Joseph "Bud" and Margaret Ann (nee Wathen) Leonard;
7he graduated from Alton High School; he married Patricia A.
8Matthews on April 16, 1971 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
9Alton; he served his country in the United States Army during
10the Vietnam War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, J. Raymond Leonard worked for McDonnell Douglas
12for 26 years and then for the Alton Belle Casino for 18 years
13as a dealer; and
 
14    WHEREAS, J. Raymond Leonard was a member of St. Mary's
15Catholic Church and was an Alton Knights of Columbus 3rd degree
16knight; he enjoyed golf, bowling, and working in the yard and
17loved spending time with family and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, J. Raymond Leonard was preceded in death by his
19parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, J. Raymond Leonard is survived by his wife,

1Patricia; his daughters, Kim (Steve) Menke and Jennifer (Derek)
2Osborn; his grandchildren, Brennan and Noah Menke and Hannah,
3Carsten, and Abbi Olsson; and his brother, Terry L. (Karen)
4Leonard; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7J. Raymond Leonard and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of J. Raymond Leonard as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
