SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lorraine L. Huffman of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on November 5, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lorraine Huffman was born on February 27, 1922 in
6Minot, North Dakota to Ole Neil and Crystal (nee Mowers)
7Landsverk; she married George Wallen Huffman on September 26,
81942 in Sidney, Montana; they settled in Crystal Lake in 1957;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lorraine Huffman worked as a teacher and taught
11biology, and for many years enjoyed substitute-teaching; she
12eventually retired as a librarian from Crystal Lake South High
13School; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lorraine Huffman actively volunteered in many
15church and community activities; she was a member of PEO
16Chapter LD and was a Stephen Minister; she enjoyed traveling,
17reading, Bible studies, playing bridge, Sunday drives, bird
18watching, theatre, concerts, and spending time with her church
19family; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lorraine Huffman was preceded in death by her
21husband and by her parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Lorraine Huffman is survived by her children,
2Peyton (Kitty Wright) Huffman, Ron (Betty) Huffman, and Krista
3Huffman; her grandchildren, Heather (David Bratcher) Huffman,
4Lori (Brian) Chrisman, Bret (Katherine) Corbin, and Todd
5Hilton; her great-grandchildren, Garrett, Collin, Taylor Ann,
6and Dean; and her cousin, Kirk (Hillary) Steinhaus; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lorraine L. Huffman, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lorraine Huffman as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
