SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rachel Myers Gibson, who passed away on
4October 25, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rachel Gibson graduated from Willowbrook High
6School, participating in golf, student council, and the
7literary magazine while there; she attended Elmhurst College as
8a communications and political science major, where she sang
9with the women's choir and participated in a multitude of
10service projects and joined the Sigma Kappa sorority; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rachel Gibson spent many years as a Bible school
12teacher and loved singing with the Anima Young Singers,
13including performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, a
14July 4th concert at Millennium Park, and a Make-A-Wish benefit
15at Wells Cathedral in England; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rachel Gibson worked on many political campaigns
17and was a relentless advocate for children with special
18healthcare needs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rachel Gibson was an avid animal lover and her
20biggest attachments were her horse and dogs; and

1    WHEREAS, Rachel Gibson's plan was to change the world and
2those that met her believed that she could do just that;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Rachel Myers Gibson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Rachel Gibson as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
