SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wesley F. Sterne of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on March 15, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne was born on October 20, 1926 in
6Williams Bay, Wisconsin; his parents were Theodore W. and Mary
7(nee Reddersdorf) Sterne; he married Jacqulyn Balfe in 1945 in
8Wisconsin; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne served his country as a member of
10the United States Army during World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne's family were the owners of Sterne's
12Wild Life Refuge, a property which was later sold to the
13Crystal Lake Park District; the property is now known as
14Sterne's Woods; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne was one of the few early Green Bay
16Packers fans (prior to the Vince Lombardi era) in the Crystal
17Lake area; he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and
18hunting; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne was preceded in death by his wife,
20Jacqulyn, and his great-grandson, Cody Welch; and

1    WHEREAS, Wesley Sterne is survived by his children, Wesley
2J. (Cheryl) Sterne, Terrie (David) Welch, Rodney (Lisa) Sterne
3Michelle Chapman, and Steven Sterne; his grandchildren,
4Jonathan (Brianna) Sterne, Amy Sterne, David Welch, Jeff
5(Robin) Welch, Jason (Heather) Chapman, Branden Chapman,
6Justin Chapman, Taylor Sterne, Michael Keith, and Margaret
7Keith; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Sterne, McKenzie
8Chapman, and Zachary Welch; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Wesley F. Sterne; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Wesley Sterne as an expression of
15our sympathy.
