SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Henry "Hank" Tonigan, II of Waukegan, who
4passed away on April 1, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was born on April 2, 1925 in
6Waukegan to Henry and Wilma Tonigan; he was an Eagle Scout and
7a life-long supporter of the Boys Scouts of America; he served
8in the United States Navy during World War II as a weatherman
9on the USS Intrepid; he married Jean Schroeder in Rantoul in
10June of 1947; after his service, he graduated from the
11University of Illinois with a Master's of Education and from
12Northwestern University with a Master's of Business
13Administration; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan worked as a plant manager for US
15Steel and Ozite Manufacturing; he was a proud owner of Profile
16Publications and Red Line Litho in Crystal Lake, for which he
17received numerous Chamber of Commerce awards; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was an avid nature enthusiast,
19golfer, and a 32nd degree Mason with the Rising Son Lodge; he
20was past-President of 2 Lutheran Congressional Churches in
21Waukegan and Barrington; and

1    WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was preceded in death by his
2parents; wife, Jean; daughter, Connie; granddaughter, Brandy;
3brothers, Bud and Dick Tonigan; and sisters, Joy Weeks, Louise
4Simshauser, and Marilyn "Ducky" Lea; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan is survived by his son, Henry "Skip"
6(Rebecca) Tonigan, III; his grandchildren, Henry "Hawk"
7Tonigan, IV and Alexandria C. Tonigan; many nieces and nephews;
8and great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Henry "Hank" Tonigan, II, and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Henry Tonigan, II as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
