SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bradley G. Demuzio of Springfield, who
4passed away on November 9, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was born on September 3, 1964 in
6Carlinville; his parents were former Illinois State Senators
7Vince Demuzio and Deanna (nee Clemonds) Demuzio; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio had a long and distinguished
9career as a public servant; from 1984 to 1986, he worked in the
10Child Support Division of the Cook County State's Attorney's
11Office; from 1986 to 1999, he worked as a criminal investigator
12for the Illinois Attorney General's office; on February 16,
131999, he began serving at the Illinois Secretary of State
14Police as the Chief Deputy Director; in 2002, he began serving
15as Director of the Secretary of State Police, where he served
16until his passing; he also represented Secretary White on the
17Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Council and served as Mayor of
18Carlinville from 1993 to 2005; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was a graduate of the FBI National
20Academy, Session 207; he was a member of the FBI National
21Academy Associates for Illinois and served as the
22organization's Illinois President in 2008; he was also a member

1of the International and Illinois Associations of Chiefs of
2Police, the Sangamon County Law Enforcements Executives, and
3the Illinois Sheriffs' Association; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was an avid golfer and hunter; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was preceded in death by his
6father, Vince Demuzio; his grandparents, Vincent and Catherine
7Demuzio and John and Virginia Clemonds; and an aunt and uncle,
8Bernadette and David Hasquin; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio is survived by 2 children, Blake
10Demuzio and Brooke Demuzio; his mother, Deanna Demuzio; a
11sister, Stephanie (Patrick) Blair; a nephew, Tristan Blair; a
12niece, Gillian Blair; and 3 aunts, Marlene Demuzio, Catherine
13(Peter) Visintine, and Donna (James) Burke; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Bradley G. Demuzio;
17and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Bradley Demuzio as an expression of
20our sympathy.
