Amends the Park District Code. Provides that park districts may develop, operate, finance, and participate in joint recreational programs with one or more (instead of contiguous) park districts, cities, city recreation commissions, forest preserve districts, conservation districts, school districts, or other municipal or quasi-municipal governments. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 8-18 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 1205/8-18) (from Ch. 105, par. 8-18)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 8-18.
Every park district shall have the power and |
| 8 | | authority to develop,
operate, finance and participate in joint |
| 9 | | recreational programs with one or more
contiguous park |
| 10 | | districts, or cities, city recreation commissions, forest |
| 11 | | preserve districts, conservation districts, or
school |
| 12 | | districts, or other municipal or quasi-municipal governments, |
| 13 | | and to
enter into joint agreements pertaining thereto, |
| 14 | | including the joint use of
facilities and equipment and the |
| 15 | | securing of liability insurance in
connection with such use.
