Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Provides that a person that does not prohibit a licensee from carrying a concealed firearm on property that the person owns or occupies is immune from any civil or criminal liability, or both, arising from that person's decision. Provides that an employer that does not prohibit one or more employees who are licensees from carrying a concealed firearm in the course of the licensee's employment is immune from any civil or criminal liability, or both, arising from the employer's decision.

1 | | AN ACT concerning safety.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 71 as follows: |
6 | | (430 ILCS 66/71 new) |
7 | | Sec. 71. Immunity from civil and criminal liability. |
8 | | (a) A person that does not prohibit a licensee from |
9 | | carrying a concealed firearm on property that the person owns |
10 | | or occupies is immune from any civil or criminal liability, or |
11 | | both, arising from that person's decision. |
12 | | (b) An employer that does not prohibit one or more |
13 | | employees who are licensees from carrying a concealed firearm |
14 | | in the course of the licensee's employment is immune from any |
15 | | civil or criminal liability, or both, arising from the |
16 | | employer's decision.
