SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clementine Watson, who passed away on
4January 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clementine Watson was born on August 30, 1940 in
6Chicago; her parents were Lela Mae and Charles Evans; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Clementine Watson attended Roosevelt University
8in Chicago; she was employed for the Consolidated Rail
9Corporation in Chicago for 30 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After retiring, Clementine Watson relocated to
11Peoria and served as an advocate for change in the greater
12Peoria community; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Clementine Watson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist
14Church under the pastorate of Rev. Alphonso Lyons, Jr.; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Clementine Watson was preceded in death by her
16parents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Clementine Watson is survived by a brother, Vernon
18(Faye) Evans; a godsister, Lorraine Carter; a godniece, Sherry
19Carter-Allen; and many great-godnieces, great-godnephews,

1cousins, city and neighborhood community leaders, and friends;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Clementine Watson; and
6be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Clementine Watson as an expression
9of our sympathy.
