SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dean Robinson of Moline, who passed away
4on October 28, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was born on June 23, 1933 in
6Welling, Oklahoma; his parents were David and Hattie Griffith
7Robinson; he married Daisy Marshall on July 29, 1950 in
8Princeton, Iowa; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was a Korean War veteran and a
10member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1975 of Port Byron; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson worked as an installer in the
12floor-covering industry for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was a musician; he played the
14upright bass, guitar, and mandolin; he enjoyed country and
15bluegrass music; he traveled across the country, mainly in the
16Southwest, and once played at the Grand Ole Opry and got to use
17Charlie Pride's dressing room; he also enjoyed watching
18football on Sundays and woodworking; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was preceded in death by his
20parents; his wife, Daisy; and his siblings, Freeda Ryker,

1Marvin Robinson, and Calvin Robinson; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dean Robinson is survived by his children, James
3Robinson, Cynthia (Larry) Marlow, Gayleen (Mitch) Callihan,
4and Pamela Langley; nine grandchildren; nine
5great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Pam) Robinson; his
6sisters, Judith Latta and Linda (Robert) Poor; many nephews and
7nieces; and his special niece, Lesa Ahrens; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Dean Robinson; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dean Robinson as an expression of
14our sympathy.
