Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that the Illinois Juvenile Jurisdiction Task Force shall submit a report of its recommendations to the General Assembly by January 1, 2012 (rather than January 1, 2010). Effective immediately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Provides that the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission shall also study the impact of, develop timelines, and propose a funding structure to accommodate the expansion of the jurisdiction of the Illinois Juvenile Court to include youth age 17 under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that the Commission shall submit a report by December 31, 2011 to the General Assembly with recommendations on extending juvenile court jurisdiction to youth age 17 charged with felony offenses. Provides that on the effective date of the amendatory Act, the Illinois Juvenile Jurisdiction Task Force created by Public Act 95-1031 is abolished and its duties are transferred to the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission. Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Repeals provisions creating the Illinois Juvenile Jurisdiction Task Force.
