Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that violations of local ordinances that prohibit the operation of a vehicle in a negligent manner are not offenses against traffic regulations governing the movement of vehicles for the purpose of the suspension or revocation of a driver's license.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/11-503.1 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the original bill. Creates a new Illinois Vehicle Code violation for negligent driving. Provides that negligent driving is the operation of a vehicle that is negligent and without due caution in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger a person or property. Provides that a violation is a petty offense with a fine not to exceed $25, and that this violation shall not be considered a moving violation for purposes of suspending a driver's license.
