Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the provisions relating to special speed limits while traveling through a highway construction or maintenance speed zone apply only when workers are present in the construction or maintenance speed zone. Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the same Section of the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that in assessing fines for violating the special speed limits for construction and maintenance zones, the $250 minimum fine for first violations and the $750 minimum fine for subsequent violations only apply when workers are present, and that the minimum fine when workers are not present shall be $95.
