Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Youthbuild Act. Provides that the Secretary of Human Services shall, subject to appropriation, make grants to applicants for the purpose of carrying out Youthbuild programs (now, the Secretary is authorized to make grants). Provides that youths in foster care, youth offenders, youths with disabilities, children of incarcerated parents, and migrant youth are eligible to participate in Youthbuild programs. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.

 HB 202 has no fiscal impact.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
20 ILCS 1315/45 new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the substantive provisions of the introduced bill. Further amends the Illinois Youthbuild Act. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall prepare an annual report summarizing costs and outcome data associated with the Youthbuild programs. Requires that the report shall include certain information. Provides that the Department must submit the report to the General Assembly by July 1, 2008 and by July 1 of each year thereafter. Effective immediately.
