Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, the School Code, the Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, and the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act to provide coverage for a federally approved shingles vaccine.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Requires coverage for a vaccine for shingles that is approved for marketing by the federal Food and Drug Administration if the vaccine is ordered by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches and the enrollee is 60 years of age or older.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Adds reference to:
30 ILCS 805/8.32 new

Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.

Governor Amendatory Veto Message
Adds reference to: 215 ILCS 5/367F. Recommends that the Illinois Insurance Code be further amended to change the definition of "retirement or disability period" in provisions concerning the firemen's continuance privilege to allow a disabled or retired fireman who did not elect to enroll in the municipal group insurance plan during the retirement or disability period or who elected to enroll in the municipal group insurance plan during the retirement or disability period but later disenrolled, to, only once thereafter, elect to enroll in the municipal group insurance plan during the annual open enrollment or renewal period if the disabled or retired fireman meets certain criteria and to add related provisions concerning dependents and notice.
