Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Illinois Family and Medical Leave Act. Contains provisions similar to those in the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Contains provisions concerning applicability and coordination.

Judicial Note (Admin Office of the Illinois Courts)
This bill would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State.

Fiscal Note (Dept. of Children & Family Services)
HB 4724 will not have a fiscal impact on the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), as it mirrors the requirements of Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. DCFS' rules and procedures have already incorporated federal requirements for FMLA. There should be no measureable fiscal impact from this legislation.

State Mandates Fiscal Note (Dept. of Commerce & Economic Opportunity)
This bill does not create a State mandate.

 Fiscal Note (Department of Labor)
 HB 4724 creates significant new responsibilities for the Fair Labor Standards Division of the Department of Labor that cannot be administered with existing resources and staff. The fiscal impact is as follows: (1) Personnel = $330,000; (2) Fringes = $125,100; (3) Contractual Services = $57,000; (4) Travel = $14,000; (5) Commodities = $4,000; (6) Printing = $20,000; (7) Equipment = $18,000; (8) EDP Equipment = $27,000; (9) Telecommunications = $3,600; Total = $598,700.
