Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Taxi Safety Act of 2007. Requires certain information to be posted in each taxicab. Provides that, if a taxi driver collides with a pedestrian while operating a taxicab, resulting in bodily injury, then any responding law enforcement officers must test the taxi driver for drug and alcohol use. Preempts home rule powers.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the taxicab medallion number or an exterior identification number must be posted in a visible location in each cab. Deletes language providing that law enforcement officers must respond to stop any taxicab if a passenger calls from inside that taxicab.
