SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2105/2105-18 new

    Amends the Department of Professional Regulation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that certain health care providers licensed by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation who have applied for license renewal shall be presumed licensed until their license renewals have been approved or denied by the Department. Requires the Department to provide proof of temporary licensure renewal to a licensed health care provider who applies for renewal of his or her license and is in good standing. Provides that the Department may adopt rules to implement the provisions.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law of
5the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding
6Section 2105-18 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2105/2105-18 new)
8    Sec. 2105-18. Temporary license renewal for health care
9providers. A health care provider licensed by the Department,
10including, but not limited to, individuals licensed under the
11Illinois Dental Practice Act, Medical Practice Act of 1987,
12Nurse Practice Act, and Physician Assistant Practice Act of
131987, who has applied for renewal of his or her license shall
14be presumed licensed until his or her license renewal has been
15approved or denied by the Department. The Department shall
16provide proof of temporary licensure renewal to a licensed
17health care provider who applies for renewal of his or her
18license and who is in good standing. The Department may adopt
19rules to implement the provisions of this Section.
