HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Hee Jung Choi on the occasion of her 104th birthday on February 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Hee Jung Choi immigrated to the United States in 1978 at the age of 63 and has lived in Chicago ever since; and

WHEREAS, Hee Jung Choi is a resident of HANA Center's Moogoong Terrace; the HANA Center was founded in February 2017 as a merger between the Korean-American Community Services (KACS), which was established in 1972, and the Korean American Resource & Cultural Center, which was established in 1995; they respond to the needs of Korean-American and other immigrant groups and celebrate their cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Hee Jung Choi is an active member of Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church; she enjoys singing, acting, storytelling, and exercising regularly; and

WHEREAS, Hee Jung Choi is a mother of three, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of six; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Hee Jung Choi on her 104th birthday, and we wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Hee Jung Choi as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
