HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Elmhurst Park District on the occasion of its 100th anniversary on June 5, 2020; and

WHEREAS, The Elmhurst Park District was formed in June of 1920; over the years, numerous facilities and acres of open space have been added to the park district to meet the growing needs of the community; currently, it provides a wide variety of organized programs, serving the needs of infants through seniors; and

WHEREAS, The Elmhurst Park District has 28 parks that provide recreation, access to open spaces, and preservation of open lands and animal habitats; the parks are meticulously maintained for the community's use in both unstructured recreation and for programmed events; and

WHEREAS, The Elmhurst Park District's mission is to enrich lives while having fun; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Elmhurst Park District on its 100th anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Elmhurst Park District as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
