HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the West Lincoln-Broadwell Junior High School Girls Basketball team, the Wolverines, on winning the 2019 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 1A State Girls Basketball Championship for both the 7th and 8th grade teams; and

WHEREAS, The 7th grade Wolverines secured a 25 to 20 victory over Ashland-Chandlerville Central Middle School at Assumption Central A & M Middle School on December 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, The 8th grade Wolverines secured a 39 to 28 victory over A-C Central Middle School at Clinton Junior High School on December 19, 2019; and

WHEREAS, With these championships, West Lincoln-Broadwell has now won both the 7th and 8th grade Class 1A girls basketball championships for the last three years, making it six total state championships in three years; and

WHEREAS, The Wolverines are led by Head Coach Kari Froebe and Assistant Coaches Brad Schneider and Cory Farmer; and

WHEREAS, The Wolverines are managed by Malina Luckhart, Kruz Froebe, Kendal Long, Addie Farmer, and Falyn Farmer; and

WHEREAS, The Wolverines are Becca Heitzig, Kloe Froebe, Regan Goodey, Jenna Bowman, Alison Turner, Tori Geriets, Alyssa Bishop, Mia Clark, Lily Holmes, Marin Luckhart, Piper Whiteman, Jane Turner, Emma Baker, Rebecca Burge, Amaya Randall, Myah Bowman, Grace Schneider, Dabria Dalpoas, Mesa McCloud, Madison Kurka, Grey Gilbert, Norah Block, and Chamaya Howard; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the West Lincoln-Broadwell Junior High School Girls Basketball team, the Wolverines, on winning the 2019 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 1A State Girls Basketball Championship for both the 7th and 8th grade teams, and we hold them up as models of hard work, dedication, and team spirit; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Kari Froebe and West Lincoln-Broadwell Junior High School Superintendent/Principal Heather Baker as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
