SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 5/3-806  from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-806

    Amends the Registration and License Fees Article of the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides a motor vehicle of the first division, other than an autocycle, motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or pedalcycle, that is 5 model years of age or younger shall pay the Secretary of State an annual registration fee of $74 if the vehicle was assembled or manufactured in Illinois.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing
5Section 3-806 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/3-806)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-806)
7    Sec. 3-806. Registration Fees; Motor Vehicles of the First
8Division.
9    (a) Every owner of any other motor vehicle of the first
10division, except as provided in Sections 3-804, 3-804.01,
113-804.3, 3-805, 3-806.3, 3-806.7, and 3-808, and every second
12division vehicle weighing 8,000 pounds or less, shall pay the
13Secretary of State an annual registration fee at the following
14rates:

5    A $1 surcharge shall be collected in addition to the above
6fees for motor vehicles of the first division, autocycles,
7motorcycles, motor driven cycles, and pedalcycles to be
8deposited into the State Police Vehicle Fund.
9    All of the proceeds of the additional fees imposed by
10Public Act 96-34 shall be deposited into the Capital Projects
11Fund.
12    A $2 surcharge shall be collected in addition to the above
13fees for motor vehicles of the first division, autocycles,
14motorcycles, motor driven cycles, and pedalcycles to be
15deposited into the Park and Conservation Fund for the
16Department of Natural Resources to use for conservation
17efforts. The monies deposited into the Park and Conservation
18Fund under this Section shall not be subject to administrative
19charges or chargebacks unless otherwise authorized by this Act.
20    Of the fees collected for motor vehicles of the first
21division other than Autocycles, Motorcycles, Motor Driven
22Cycles, and Pedalcycles, $1 of the fees shall be deposited into
23the Secretary of State Special Services Fund and $49 of the
24fees shall be deposited into the Road Fund.
25    (b) Notwithstanding subsection (a), a vehicle subject to
26registration fees under this Section, other than an autocycle,

1motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or pedalcycle, that is 5 model
2years of age or younger shall pay the Secretary of State an
3annual registration fee of $74 if the vehicle was assembled or
4manufactured in this State.
