Amends the School Code. Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, requires a school district to provide to students enrolled in grades 10 through 12 the opportunity to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test and consult with a military recruiter during regular school hours and in a location situated on school grounds.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.73 and 34-18.66 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/10-20.73 new)

Sec. 10-20.73. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test. Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, a school district shall provide to students enrolled in grades 10 through 12 the opportunity to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test and to consult with a military recruiter during regular school hours and in a location situated on school grounds. The school board shall determine by policy the appropriate date, time, and location during the school year in which to offer the test to students.
