SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth "Kenny" Schipper of Cordova, who passed away on February 15, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Schipper was born in Albany to George and Jennie (Bielema) Schipper on December 26, 1939; he attended Albany Grade School and graduated from Fulton High School in 1957; he first married Donna Juist in Fulton; he later married Eileen Yarbrough in Fulton on September 2, 1989; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Schipper farmed his entire life in the Cordova, Erie, Fulton, Hooppole, and Albany areas; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Schipper collected Allis Chalmers tractors and had 37 in his collection; he enjoyed attending auctions, especially farm auctions; he and his wife enjoyed traveling, and they made a yearly trip to Cheyenne, Wyoming to watch the rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier Days; he was a member of the Fulton Saddle Club and enjoyed going out to lunch every Tuesday with his friends; he was a kind, gentle person and made friends wherever he went; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Schipper was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jim Schipper; and his brothers, Vernon and Leroy Schipper; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Schipper is survived by his wife, Eileen; his daughter, State Senator Sue (Keith) Rezin; his stepsons, Jamey and Jason Vermeire; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth "Kenny" Schipper and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenny Schipper as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
