SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase Sabethal White of Tucson, Arizona, who died in the line of duty on November 29, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White was born on July 28, 1977; he grew up in Central Illinois and earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Illinois in 2000; he served in the United States Air Force from 2000 until 2007; he rose to the rank of Captain and then continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve in the 926th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; while serving in the United States Air Force, he completed coursework for his master's degree in human relations, which he received, with a 4.0 grade point average, from the University of Oklahoma in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White joined the U.S. Marshals Service in 2015 and served in the District of Arizona, Tucson office; prior to his service with the Marshals, he worked as an Investigator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Las Vegas for six years; in that role, he helped enforce federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of race, religion, sex, age, disability, and other factors; and

WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White was an outstanding professional, who was dedicated to eradicating crime from the streets of Tucson; he was devoted to making his community and the Nation safer; and

WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen, and his four children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase Sabethal White and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Deputy U. S. Marshal White as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
