SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sheila M. Jakaitis of Wadsworth, who passed away on February 26, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Jakaitis was born in Waukegan to Stanley and Josephine Schuster on May 9, 1944; she graduated from Waukegan High School in 1961 and later earned her nursing degree from the College of Lake County; she married Edmund Jakaitis at St. Dismas Church in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Jakaitis worked at Lake Forest Hospital and the Vista East Medical Center (Victory Memorial Hospital) in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Jakaitis was a lifelong member of the American Slovenian Catholic Union KSKJ; she was also a member of a sewing club, bowling league, and St. Patrick Parish in Wadsworth; she enjoyed word searches, bingo, Jeopardy, cross stitching, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Jakaitis was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Sheila Jakaitis is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edmund; her children, Sherri (Ron) Bulow, Joleen Jakaitis, and Michelle (Henri) Krueger; her grandchildren, Aubrey and Kaydence Krueger; her sister, Shirley Porter; her brothers-in-law, Tom (Donna) and Larry (Sue) Jakaitis; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sheila M. Jakaitis and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sheila Jakaitis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
