SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James W. "Jim" Dee of Bloomington, who passed away on August 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jim Dee was born in Bloomington to James G. and Pearl M. Hines Dee Sr. on April 22, 1929; he graduated from Trinity High School in 1947; he attended Purdue University; he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Jim Dee was a lifelong farmer; he retired in 2004 at the age of 75; and

WHEREAS, Jim Dee was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 574, Bloomington and the McLean County Farm Bureau; he was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna, where he served on the finance committee; and

WHEREAS, Jim Dee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Allan C. King; and

WHEREAS, Jim Dee is survived by his sister, Rosemary King; his nieces, Mary (Morrie) Sweeney and Ann (Gene) Harvey; his nephews, Bob (Vicki) King, Dave (Julie) King, John (Domine) King, and Steve (Laurel) King; his 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James W. "Jim" Dee and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Dee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
