SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara J. Ankley of Waukegan, who passed away on September 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was born in Waukegan to Harold and Lillian Blomstrom on June 29, 1938; she graduated from Waukegan High School; she married Roger Ankley on May 17, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was a parishoner of the Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan and a member of the Jaycees, the Waukegan Yacht Club, and the Clara Cummings Book Club; she enjoyed boating, traveling, the theatre, and bridge club; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was preceded in death by her parents; many aunts and uncles, and a niece; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley is survived by her husband, Roger; her children, Roger (Heather) Ankley, Julie (Rob) Hopkins, and Wendy (Dave Schlapper) O'Linn; her grandchildren, Kristin, Jeffrey, Ryan, Samantha, Alexander, Allison, Kelly, Kevin, Ryan, Ethan, Jonathan, and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas (Marianne) Blomstrom; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara J. Ankley and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Ankley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
