SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roger L. Tarala of Blue Island, who passed away on April 3, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Born on March 13, 1953, Roger Tarala was formerly of Dolton and South Holland; and

WHEREAS, Roger Tarala was the longtime youth coach for St. Jude the Apostle, Dolton Boys Baseball, Thornridge High School, and Thornton Township High School; and

WHEREAS, Roger Tarala changed the trajectory of countless young men's lives; and

WHEREAS, Roger Tarala was the beloved son of the late Edward and Mary (Mancuso); the former husband of Toni Lynn (Bytnar); the devoted father of Sean (Donna), Joseph (Lisa), Nicholas (Veronica), Sam (Ben) Bettenhausen, and Jeffrey (Kerry) Tarala; the loving father figure of Stafford Owens; the proud grandfather of Colin, Caden, Michael (Claire), James, Christa (Ryan) Romkema, Kara, Jeffrey, Matthew, Alejandra, Nico, James, Matthew, Will, Ruth, Anton, and Rosalie; the dear great-grandfather of Anastasia, Augustine, and Felicity; the caring brother of Marla (Curt) Malcom and Gregory Tarala; and the kind uncle of Antonio, Michael, Matthew, and Marc; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roger L. Tarala and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roger Tarala as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
