SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lee Waldron on March 16, 2019 at the age of 94; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 12, 1924 to Murray and Ruth (Liptzer) Waldron and grew up in Bow Lake, New Hampshire, where his family had been settled since the early 18th century; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron enlisted in the army at age 18 and attended basic training in Massachusetts; he was among the troops who landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in June 1944 and served in the Battle of the Bulge; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron was a graduate of Northeastern University and earned a master's degree from Central Michigan University; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as a contracting officer; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron was active in community theater during his young adult years; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron lived in Oak Park for the last eight years of his life with his wife of 60 years, Paula (Nauchman); and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron was the cherished brother of James Waldron and the late George Waldron; and

WHEREAS, Lee Waldron is survived by his wife, Paula; his children, Richard (Shea) Waldron, Deborah Waldron, and Stacy (Bruce) Moncrieff; and his grandchildren, Alex, Jonathan, Myriam, Gabriel, David, Adam, Celeste, and Nathan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lee Waldron and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lee Waldron as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
