HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the largest and longest continually operating business in downtown Oswego, the Alexander Lumber Company, will be moving out of the village later this year; and

WHEREAS, The Alexander Lumber Company has operated the Oswego site since May 7, 1930, with a lumber yard having been located on the property since the mid-1870's; and

WHEREAS, The Oswego site currently covers 2.24 acres and employs 24 full-time workers; it has reached annual sales of $20 million and contributes approximately $200,000 in annual sales tax to the village; and

WHEREAS, The Alexander Lumber Company has been a good corporate partner and its move is definitely a loss for Oswego; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank the Alexander Lumber Company for their many years of serving the Oswego community and for being a long-time employer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Alexander Lumber Company as an expression of our esteem.
