HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Rita Miotti has retired from her position as Coordinator of Contract and Management Services for the Village of Matteson after 28 years with the Village; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Miotti began her career with the Village of Matteson as an Administrative Assistant on May 23, 1977, and shortly thereafter, she also assumed the duties of Deputy Clerk; in 1985, she was promoted to the position of Assistant to the Village Administrator and to the position of Director of Administrative Services in 1991; she was appointed Coordinator of Contract and Management Services in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Her responsibilities have included many of the day-to-day operations of the Village Hall, where both the residents and employees of the Village have received the benefit of her knowledge and experience in municipal government; the department is responsible for water billing, business licensing, personnel and insurance record keeping, and many other activities; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Miotti's greatest contributions to the quality of life in Matteson have been the special projects and programs that she has developed during her tenure; she negotiated the franchise agreement that brought cable television to the community, participated in the development of the regional self-insured program, negotiated various health benefit programs for Village employees, and served as one of a small group of dedicated people who founded the Old Plank Road Trail Commission, making the dream of a regional hike/bike trail a reality; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Miotti and her husband, Marc, and daughter, Frankie, live in New Lenox and are active in community activities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Rita Miotti on the occasion of her retirement, and we thank her for her many years of devotion to the citizens of Matteson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rita Miotti as an expression of our respect and esteem and with best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
