SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 5/34-18.48 new

    Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Provides that students of the district shall take 4 standardized academic achievement tests per school year and must not be required to take more than that number. Provide that the 4 tests shall consist of 2 State tests and 2 tests to comply with the Evaluation of Employees Article of the Code. Effective July 1, 2013.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
534-18.48 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/34-18.48 new)
7    Sec. 34-18.48. Limit on number of standardized tests.
8Students of the school district shall take 4 standardized
9academic achievement tests per school year and must not be
10required to take more than that number. The 4 tests shall
11consist of 2 State tests and 2 tests to comply with Article 24A
12of this Code.
 
13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
142013.
