SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.48 new

Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Provides that students of the district shall take 4 standardized academic achievement tests per school year and must not be required to take more than that number. Provide that the 4 tests shall consist of 2 State tests and 2 tests to comply with the Evaluation of Employees Article of the Code. Effective July 1, 2013.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 34-18.48 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/34-18.48 new)

Sec. 34-18.48. Limit on number of standardized tests. Students of the school district shall take 4 standardized academic achievement tests per school year and must not be required to take more than that number. The 4 tests shall consist of 2 State tests and 2 tests to comply with Article 24A of this Code.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2013.
