SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin Whitney, who passed away on January 19, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was born on June 19, 1935, in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney served his country with pride as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney retired from Johnson Motors in 1997, after 42 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago White Sox fan; he also enjoyed constructing Purple Marten Houses; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Whitney Sr. and Agnes Whitney, and his brother, Frank Whitney Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Whitney is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia; his sons, Mark, Jeffery (Elizabeth), and Donald; his granddaughter, Vanessa; and his brother, Robert Whitney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Marvin Whitney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Whitney as an expression of our sympathy.
