SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert K. "Lobo" Lane, Sr. of
4Bloomington, who passed away on December 11, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Lane, Sr. was born on April 18, 1927 in
6Clinton to Martha Kunkel; he attended Watseka Grade School and
7high school and graduated from the University of Illinois,
8where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and a nominee for Chief
9Illiniwek; he served in the United Stats Navy; he married Joy
10Chapman and then Edie Lane in 1968; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Lane, Sr. worked as an agent for Mass
12Mutual for 56 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Lane, Sr. was a previous member of the
14Bloomington Country Club, the Jaycees, Ducks Unlimited, the U
15of I Quarterback Club, and the March of Dimes; he was an avid
16duck hunter; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Lane, Sr. was preceded in death by his
18mother; his daughter, Sally; and the mother of his children,
19Joy Chapman; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Lane, Sr. is survived by his wife, Edie;

1his son, Robert K. (Joen) Lane, Jr.; his daughter, Cathy
2(Stephen, Jr.) Horrell; his grandchildren, Stephen (Kasey)
3Horrell, III, Michael Horrell, Alex (Laura) Horrell, Robert K.
4(Michelle) Lane, III, Thomas Jeffrey Lane, Chad Hawkins, and
5Jeffrey Hawkins; his great-grandson, Stephen Horrell, IV; and
6his special longtime friend, Dee Willard; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Robert K. "Lobo" Lane, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Lane, Sr. as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
