SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Esther Chloe Sturm of Wonder Lake, who passed away on January 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Esther Sturm was born in Macomb on February 13, 1929 to Clarence and Ocie Vogler; as a young child, she attended a one-room school house; she was later able to graduate from high school a year early; she married Donald C. Sturm on February 11, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Esther Sturm was a mother and a homemaker; and

WHEREAS, Esther Sturm enjoyed golf, bowling, sewing, reading, and upholstering; and

WHEREAS, Esther Sturm was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donald; and

WHEREAS, Esther Sturm is survived by her 9 children, Deborah (Richard) Draper, Donald (Jayne) Sturm, David (Georgette) Sturm, Delora (Steve) Gerhardt, Diane (Joe) Shoemaker, Doreen (Richard) Berndt, Dee Laine (Terry) Sellke, Dawn (Scott) Steinbach, and Dina (Steve) Dermont; her sister, Wilma (Darrell deceased) Erdmann; her 15 grandchildren; and her 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Esther Chloe Sturm, and extend our sincere condolences her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Esther Sturm as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
