HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Frances Dreyer on the occasion of her 100th birthday on January 11, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Frances Dreyer began her teaching career in a one-room school house in Okawville; she then taught at Okawville High School for several years; as one of the few people in Okawville who owned a car, she often gave some of her students rides to school; and

WHEREAS, Frances Dreyer then moved to Steeleville where at Steeleville High School she worked as an English teacher, guidance counselor, and principal during her decades long educational career; and

WHEREAS, For more than 65 years, Frances Dreyer lived in the same house in Steeleville; she shared this house with her husband, Frederick Dreyer, until his death in 2003; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Frances Dreyer on her 100th birthday on January 11, 2020; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Frances Dreyer as an expression of our esteem and respect.
