SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn J. Law, who passed away on February 5, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was born in Central City to John and Virginia (Felchlia) Bryant on November 12, 1942; she married Michael D. "Mike" McClellan in Bethalto on January 3, 1987; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was employed as a teacher in the Salem and Vandalia School Districts; she then joined the Roxana School District, where she taught at Rosewood School and Burbank School; she then became the principal at Rosewood School, Roxana Junior High, and South Roxana Elementary; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was an active union steward, a member of the South Roxana Dad's Club, and a foster mom; she enjoyed antiques and traveling with the Gypsy Caravan Antique Club; she was a member of House of Victory Church in Cottage Hills, where she was active with the Kids Club; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike; her great-granddaughter, Jayden Nicole Kirksey; her brothers, John and James Bryant; and her sister-in-law, Janice Bryant; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Law is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Richard) Kelley; her son, Tim (Hope) McClellan; her grandchildren, Paul Kirksey, Amy (Frank) Henke, Kelsi (Jordon Byrn) McClellan, Michaela (Jim) Hodges, Douglas McClellan, T.J. McClellan, and Michael McClellan; her great-grandchildren, Evan O'Brien, Jameson Byrn, Leah Henke, Brooke Henke, Paizleigh Hillig, Kinley Hillig, and Athena McClellan; her sister, Juli (George) Hatcher; her sister-in-law, Sandy Bryant; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marilyn J. Law and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Law as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
