HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The production and use of methamphetamine has become a rampant and treacherous plague throughout the United States; and

WHEREAS, The production of methamphetamine in this State is aided by the ease of access to anhydrous ammonia tanks throughout the State; and

WHEREAS, It is possible to make anhydrous ammonia inert in the production of methamphetamine; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the Illinois congressional delegation to propose federal legislation that provides funds to colleges, universities, or other institutions that conduct research on the development of an additive to anhydrous ammonia that makes it inert in the production of methamphetamine; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be delivered to each member of the Illinois congressional delegation and every college and university in the State.
