HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of U.S. Army Sergeant Andrew Lancaster of Stockton, who was killed in action in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Andrew Lancaster was born in 1984; he attended Stockton High School before he graduated from Freeport in 2002; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Andrew Lancaster served with the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, Georgia; he married his high school sweetheart Tabbatha Tillis on December 19, 2004 before his deployment to Afghanistan with the 173rd Airborne Brigade; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Andrew Lancaster will be remembered by all who knew and loved him, including his wife, Tabbatha; his parents, Harlan Lancaster and Donna and Steve Vanderheyden; his brother, Harley; his step-sisters, Jennica and Janessa Vanderheyden; and his many friends and fellow soldiers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Sergeant Andrew Lancaster; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Andrew Lancaster and his willingness to serve our country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sergeant Andrew Lancaster as an expression of our sympathy.
